Default Air control screen - dimming

Have an '01 RR SE. The screen showing air temp/control detail has started to fade. For example, when starting the vehicle, you can barely see the temp details but after about 15 minutes, it "warms up" to full brightness.

Is this an easy fix either via a new bulb or fuse?

Yes, there is a bulb back there. It can be changed fairly easily.

Default RE: Air control screen - dimming

I called an independent mechanic whom I've used before and he said that the whole LCD would need to be changed ($500). But I've read (and also heard here now) that it really can be fixed by replacing a bulb for a few bucks. Any add'l input/opinions are most welcome.

Thanks!
