Default Avdise me please

I just sold my '97 BMW 740iL so I know what it's like to own an auto mistress. A friend of mine is a wholesaler and he has a '98 RR SE w/125K on it. He just replaced the A/C compressor, did the 120K mile sevice and did the coil swap for the suspension. The truck is in REALLY nice condition inside and out. He'd sell it to me for about $6500.

I sell new homes for a living and only drive about 30 miles a day. I could be transferred and maybe drive 50-60 a day. I've always heard and searching here has pretty much confirmed these are pricey to own. My question is, would I be crazy to buy this RR as my daily driver? I am a good DIY guy and did all the work on my BMW's but with those, you know what and when things were going to break. After replacing them, you were good to go for another 60-80K.

Do you all think I'd still be throwing money at this thing after all that has been done to it?

Thanks in advance,

With 125k on the engine, I would be concerned about the head gaskets. Possibly the Intake manifold gasket as well. If there are no signs of coolant in the oil, and if it has no over heating problems...You should be ok. If you can get it done, a compression check on the cylinders would be a good pre-purchase inspection.

And that's good he already did the coil swap....my EAS went out at 80k miles...$1800 to fix [:@]

Is it the 4.0 or the 4.6 SE?
