Default Front driveshaft removal

I will be taking a long paved road trip this weekend and was wondering if removing my front driveshaft on my 89 classic would cause any problems. The reason for this is to not hear and feel the slop or slack in the transfer case when I let off the throttle abruptly on the highway and in the city. It’s lifted with OME springs and I have to roll out of the gas slowly in order to not feel that slop. Plus, I’m thinking that I may even gain a little fuel mileage. Any thoughts about this?

Default RE: Front driveshaft removal

the 89 has the borg warner, so if you take out the front driveshaft, you can damage it.
