Battery Change -- 99 Range Rover
Well, my friend took my Range Rover out for a few days, and came back one night and dropped it off while I was sleeping. When I woke up, and went to go check the truck out, I realised the battery was dead. When i went to change the battery, everytime I connected the battery, the alarm would sound. Any help? I do not know much about Land Rovers.

Your vehicle was locked, so alarm was on. Battery died a natural death, or has a loose terminal. Alarm considered this an attack on the vehicle. The security system is designed to protect THE Crown jewels, or in the US, the bags of gold owners must deliver to dealers on a frequent basis. The security system has most likely also immobilzed your vehicle, it may not crank. New battery, and reset system per owners manual. If you don't have a manual, one is included in the RAVE download below, that is what Rover called their set of factory tech manuals. Free.
Unlock all the doors by hand, stick the key in the ignition (leave the door open in-case it locks itself, mine has in the past...) Then connect the battery. Sometimes that is all it takes. If the alarm still goes off, try and re-sync the FOB by putting it in the door lock, locking the car while holding the lock button. Then unlock it while holding the unlock button. These methods have worked for me in the past.
