Default BeCM Problem? Range Rover 97 4.0

Dear All,

My 97 4.0 Range Rover is experiencing weird electrical problems....lights flashing, horn wont go off, error messages on fuses. The weirdest of all is that even with the ingnition turned off, the engine continues to idle, though the dash doesnt show readings.

First thought is the BeCM has gone south. But, could it be a ground problem? I installed a EAS bypass as part of a coil conversion about a month ago and it was working fine but other thought is a problem with the bypass module. Thank you for your assistance.

I will tell you that it is in fact the BeCM. The cost of the part is $1000 to $1300 depending upon where you buy it. Buying a used one will do you know good unless you can find a way of clearing the BeCM so that it can be reprogramed...something the average land rover wrench simply cannot do. Good luck to all of you who face a similar issue.
