Default Brake problem

I have a Range Rover Supercharged 2008 . I bought it last year & actually have 8100 miles. I took it to service yesterday & for my surprise the dealer told me that I had no more brake pads !!! They did the brakes and I couldn't believe when they told me the price......$ 1,155.85 !!!!!
What do you guys think? Somebody else had the same problem or its just my car? I'm really thinking if is gonna be worth to be driving this car and paying $1,200.00 evry 10,000 miles JUST FOR BRAKES???!!!

Stock brakes on any new car are for the most part, crap. I would go buy and install your own brake pads somewhere other than the dealership. For some reason they just fitted rovers with really bad brake pads... and the only remedy is to not buy their genuine ones and purchase 3rd party ones with a warranty.

I think that your brakes are very good since they are Brembo. Are you excessivelyheavy on your brakes?

Based on a number of people I have talked with the average seems to be 25k but of course this depends. I have yet to change with 18k on the ODO.

LRScott, where would you recommend getting the brake work done?

First, Rovers have never had the size of brakes necessary for their weigh, hence they wear out quickly.
In the future, shout before you need brakes, we can point your towards good on-line sites where you can get all pads for $250 to $300, same for rotors if needed.
