Broken Hub/Axle on my 94 RRC
I came across a "slight" problem when going over my new project range. Funny story too. I just picked my new Ypipe for it and just got home. I wasn't feeling too hot that day so i just put in the garage and was gonna call it a day.
But i also picked up some back to black and wanted to see how it would restore some of the faded vinyl and plastics. So I tried some on the left rear taillight trim piece for the guards. (missing the guards though...) When all of the sudden i start to hear. PPPPPPPSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTT
The left rear tire started pissing out from the valve stem. I guess that little bit of motion just made the stem break the seal.
So I got it on a stand and took the tire off. Then i noticed something was up.
All 5 axleshaft/hub bolts were sheared and broken beyond belief. The axle shaft came sliding out.
Part of the axle scored up pretty good too.
So from what i can tell I need a new hub/wheel stud plate, 5 bolts, and a new axle shaft.
I also know that i need new seals, washers, bearing etc...which I coincidentally found in the parts boxes the guy gave me. Leading me to believe he knew about it and didnt say boo.
So i was looking at these parts here and im pretty sure are them, but i would love if someone had a few pointers on this repair and if the parts im looking at are correct.
Here's the hub piece im looking at: http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/FTC942.cfm
The bolts: http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/BX110095M.cfm
The axle shaft: http://www.roverlandparts.com/1994-1...sicandlwb.aspx
Everything i think i have. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

There is a nice little tutorial on this for the P38a but not the classic unfortunatley. Here is the one for the P38a but I doubt I would do you any good http://www.rangerovers.net/repairdet...rain/hubs.html. You might want to consider downloading the rave manual for range rover classics. Here it is if you do not have it yet: http://green-oval.com/joomla/index.p...d=13&Itemid=29
It should be the first one on the list "Discovery I and Range Rover Classic" It will show you how the axle is constructed and might even give you steps on how to replace it. Good luck on your project.
