CV Joint, Bearings, HUB, Axle?????
I've gone through a number of brake pads, changed my steering stabilizer links, steering damper, rotors, shocks, tie rods, sway bar, bushings, etc etc. Basically a whole new front end but in the end I have the same problem...when I brake the steering wheel shakes. More so once the pads wear alittle. I also have a rattling noise coming from the front end but it goes away when I step on the brakes slightly and the left side pads wear out quickly. I was told this may be from my front bearings. Question is can I take apart the hub and fix this or do I need to replace the bearings with a whole new assembly and if so what do I buy?? Do I buy the hub assembly that comes with an ABS sensor or a CV joint or the left side axle itself? Please help cause I've been dealing with this for the last 8 months. The repairs I have made have been well spent since I wanted to replace these parts anyway but the rattling and shaking are not only getting on my nerves but I am afraid one day the hub, wheel or axle my break. This is an overseas car so bringing it to a dealer is not the be option as they charge $300 for an oil change! HELP!
Hey Mike, Any ideas of what the problem could be? Like I said I replaced everything and the problem is still there. Do you think it will help if I try changing the rotors again?
