My comment to this is if he had a buyer who was willing to pay full asking price sight unseen, then why didn't he sell it to them rather than offer it to you for less?? This guy is total BS if he said that. When I'm car shopping and someone says that, I walk away and never look back. You did the right thing by moving on from this deal. The truck sounds like it's got quite a few issues and if the $12-$13K is a lot for you, then this was not the right truck for you. These trucks are super high maintenance so don't stretch yourself too thin on the purchase b/c you will surely need an extra wad of cash for all the fixes that are soon to come, especially one that is nearing 100K miles.
