Its not a hateful job, a little tight. I pull it out the top, I've seen others do it from underneath. Worst part in my opinion is the fan shroud, its a pain to line up correctly, and a lot of people end up breaking them. But, I would say if nothing else, it's worth having someone that knows these trucks well diagnose it. It's not common, but other factors do play in to it working correctly. Also, you will likely need more then just the compressor eventually, unless it is the source of the leak.

The fact that one side is cold means r\the AC compressior IS working !
