climate control unit delay in startup
I have a 2006 Range Rover Sport that is slowly coming back to life. I had some glitches with the climate control. The dash vents and blend doors were acting up. I pulled the lower dash panels on the driver's side and removed the lower servo for the blend doors. I couldn't get it to move when I went through all of the various options on the climate control unit. Then I manually moved the blend door. Not sure what happened, but the dash vents started working and the ac is blowing a cold 42 degrees Fahrenheit.
HOWEVER, the climate control takes about 2 or 3 minutes before it actually comes to life after I start the truck. No air comes out, it seems like it is in a sleep mode for several minutes. Then when it does start, it runs fine. I have no idea why it does this. My wife's LR3 starts immediately when the key is turned to the run position. Any ideas on why the climate control unit would take so long to activate? thanks Phil

Does the Prog. light flash while it's in-op at first start up? Mine's been doing that for a couple years now. No codes, and it works OK once it goes through it's self test routine, but at every start-up it takes about 30-45 seconds (haven't actually timed it) before you get any response from the HVAC.
I don't notice any lights flashing. I timed the period from when I start the truck to the time that the ac starts up, about 30 seconds. Doesn't sound too long.....until it is. Sitting in the truck, doors closed waiting for the ac to kick in makes 30 seconds seem like an ten minutes. It does blow cold once it starts up! Phil
Strike that. The top right side light the prog defrost light does flash during the "wait" period. When the control unit kicks in. The prog button stops flashing and the unit operates normally. Phil
