Default Clunking, grinding noise on accel from stop

I have a 2000 RR HSE with 114K... On brisk acceleration from a stop or near stop, a harsh clunking noise occurs that coincides with very jerky forward movement of the truck. The problem does not evidence itself if I acceleration more gently or at speed. Any thoughts?>?

Possibly bad u-joints. What ever it is, I would suggest you not drive it any more till you get it into a shop or you may break something costing you even more in repairs.
