Default Grinding at brake stop

I have a 1998 Range Rover 4.6 HSE. The last couple of days I've felt a grinding sensation in the pedal and resistance when I come to a stop. There is no play in the pedal and haven't had to pump brakes to stop...no lack of brake power....just "grinds to a halt" so to speak
I wanted to get some idea if this might be brake pad/cylinder related or something worse like wheel bearing

Bloody hell, it sounds as though your brake pads are shot. Check and replace them before you have to add rotors to the bill.

Yeah, that is your pads. Mine did the same thing. I would replace your rotor as well, unless you are very confident that they are still in great condition, otherwise you will risk cracking them causing major problems later.

I wonder why, with something like a saftey issue, you have to ask what it might be instead of being responsible for your self and others and have them checked the first time you feel it.
With something like this, you don't wait to see if someone else has had this problem, you take care of it.
