Chris X, I'll find the receipt tonight and post specifics (might be late east coast time). My husband took it to the Centerville, UT dealer on a borrowed flat bed truck. I think the total with labor was around $1000, but I think he had oil changed too. For some reason I think the controller was around $450. But, if you change the controller you also need to recode or change the chip in the key fob otherwise it will think the car is being stolen and disable the engine. Not sure if this can be done without dealer computer.

Great, thank you jfhwyom. I made an appointment this coming tuesday with the dealer after I tried to re-synch the fobs with no luck, lubed the outside handles and made sure they were closed, and then took the door panel off and realized I wanted to go no further.

any ideas from your experience could help my negotiation with the dealer.

Both latches got replaced at a cost of 290 dollars a piece plus 2.5 hrs labor, but I did get the complementary detail! haha. That seemed to be the cause of the issue.

Lock Assembly: FQJ103290 Lock Assy front $309.19, 4.5 hrs labor $472.50, electrical clr misc. $54.63, tax $54.78, total $891.10. Mechanic said "drivers door latch cannot sync handset becm will not come out of alarm mode fuses good micro switch in drivers door inop, backprobed wiring to simulate key in door and synced hand set, replaced drivers door latch". Spendy, but if we had just done it initially it would have saved some money and huge headaches! Good luck.
