Default Dash lights: Alternator fault and Brake Fluid

Both warning lights come on at odd times, don't stay on, come on again ...
For the Alt. light, should I check the voltage regulator? Is there one? Where to find it? Something else?
For the "low brake fluid" light, I check the fluid often to be sure and it's fine. Brakes work fine too. Dirty calipers? Change fluid? Something else?
Car is a 99 RR 4.0 Gems with 185k miles.

Thanks in advance,
