Angry dead 2000 p38 - who needs parts?

sadly, my 2000 model year Range Rover decided to terminate its own life by blowing a water pump and not telling me the engine was overheating until Boom, it was to late......

my mechanic says its not worth putting a new engine into her, so we are going to part her out....

so who needs what??? obviously the engine is fried, and the brakes where bad, and the HVAC control head never lit up (the LR guys at the south miami shop said it was bulbs)...

contact me directly and i will let you know cost per part

2000 should be Bosch. It was only the early '99 MY that had the crossover.

I am sorry to hear that. My 2000 discovery overheated on me a few weeks ago, but I had to stop and go to make it home about 10 times so my engine wouldn't blow. My husband said it needs a new radiator hose and he wants me to sale it . Parts are to expensive he said. It's in good condition any advise how much I should sale it for with or without radiator hose?

Probably THE worst thing you could have done to your engine. Cylinder sleeves slip commonly under circumstances like repeated cycles of extreme heat, then cooling. I've sold more engines to people who, when their engine began overheating, said to themselves 'I'll just get it to the next exit.' When an aluminum engine begins to overheat you pull over and call for a tow. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if you did more damage to the engine limping it home.

I had a 1972 Pontiac with a 400ci on the interstate doing about 80mph when the simple thermostat shut closed and before I could pull over and stop the engine over heated and was toast.
AAA towed it home, and a complete engine overhaul was needed, but back in those days we kept our cars and trucks and fixed what went wrong.
Today is a throw away world. Junk it and get another one.

It's also like todays marriages, as soon as something does wrong, junk her or him and get another one.

All the problems I've had with my 98 RR to me have been simple, but I still want to keep her. Kinda like my wife of 35 years, and want to keep her too.
