I have a P38 whom i love dearly but, he's causing me sleepless nights.
Several months ago someone thought it would be fun to set off, car alarms in my street, on two nights running.
Since then the alarm, kept activating itself at night up to three times. in the end a neighbour disconnected the alarm. Then the engine was disabled i entered the correct code but my key was knackered so i had to get a locksmith who also recharged the battery to get it up and running again. The display then said the sunroof was open when it was closed two days later and the alarm is going off again in the night. Now the battery is completely flat. Can anyone help?

Does the dash say engine disabled?

If so the car thinks the door was broken into.

As a last resort you open up the driver door panel find the green/red wire and the Blue/red wire and splice into them and connect to a ground. This will satisfy the cars computer that the door has been opened correctly and the engine will start. I had to it and was told the trick by the Autologic techs.

When the battery is disconnected the Windows and Sunroof need to be set.

The computer in this vehicle is a very power hungry unit. If it is working it will drain the battery in no time. When the engine is off and the vehicle is locked, it goes into a sleep mode but if it is trying to arm the alarm or senses something that wakes it up it will kill the battery overnight. I found that out when I replaced a failed switch for the interior light with one that was a regular on/off switch instead of a momentary contact one. The battery died overnight. The computer expected a quick pulse from the switch to change the state of the light from on to off. Since I used a regular switch the computer sensed the switch as being activated continuously so the computer was fully active all night. I suspect that whatever your neighbor did has caused a similar issue.
