Default Front Brakes Locking On When Rear Wheels Loose Traction

Hi all. I recently purchased a 1995 Range Rover HSE. Last weekend when i had it out in the wet paddock i lost traction on one of the rear wheels. As soon as i lost traction the TC light came on and both front wheels locked up. I was travelling about 20kmh so was quite taken by surprise when i lost all steering as the front wheels jammed up. There was also a noise coming from the engine bay, a rattling/pulsing noise which i assumed was the ABS. As soon as i took my foot off the gas the rear wheel gripped and the front wheels released. If i keep my foot on the gas the front brakes stay locked on and a single rear wheel continues to skid. Any help in diagnosing this problem would be greatly appreciated.
