fuel additive in 2003 range rover
can anyone recommend the best all in one fuel and engine cleaner to pour into my 2003 range rover GAS TANK,which has 81000 miles on it?please advise,I was in the advance store and the salesman tried to sell me on a product name seafoam.Does anyone know anything about this product?
Why do you think you need a fuel additive? LR discourages the use of fuel additives, however having owned a number of vehicles, if you have symptomatic issues it may help. I've had good luck with BG MOA which can be purchased from the majority of most dealerships - I havea friend who's a mechanic at a large chevy dealership who runs the fuel additive through all his vehicles twice a year - they also make an oil additive. I know Disco Mike is a fan of Seafoam - you can get this at walmart and alot of other car parts places - Its been around awhile. Point here is that this may help, but won't solve major problems - if your vehicle isn't running properly this stuff isn't magic in a can. Its probably more of a belt and suspenders approach.
the truck is running totally fine.i just wanted to add since the weather is getting very cold.so, you dont recommend adding anything?i noticed you mentioned that range rover usually dont and anything to their systems
The additives are used primarily to clean dirty systems, ie they're not used to improve cold weather performance. If anything, put some dry gas in your tank during the winter - if there's water/moisture in the tank, it will eliminate it.
Djones,
The best additive on the market, and has been for the last 20 years, is B&G's 44K.
It is designed to strip all the carbon from the cylinder and valves and does it very well increase your compression, mileage and low end torque.

will it hurt anything if i add it my my 2003 range rover with 81000 miles.i just wanted to add something to give it better gas mileage and better torque. Please advise.Thx
It would be the best and cheapest thing you could do for your Rover.
By the way, Rover does recommend using an additive evey 15,000 miles for rough use and every 30,000 miles on normal use.
