Default got 01 4.6 HSE RR

Just had it delivered by the owner.
Question
Vin: Decoded it and shows and HSE but the BADGE is 4.6 SE any reason?

I think your tailgate has been repainted and the the decals could be incorrect. I have never seen the "Range Rover" decal mounted low like that. It is usually just below the rear window.

I agree with krazzz. I have never seen decals that low, it is not where they are supposed to be. It was either repainted, or someone replaced old decals with new ones and put the wrong ones on.

Any pics of the interior? That will tell if its an HSE or an SE. Based on the second picture, I'd say its an HSE because of the black piping on the leather seats. You might want to check to see if it was ever in an accident.

Thanks, I ran the Vin and came back HSE. NO record of any crash damage. The PO died and was the 2nd owner, brother bought it new. I have ALL the receipts since new and nothing about tailgates, painting etc.
Now I did notice that the decals where being picked off by the kids for some reason. The "A" on the back and the "N" on front are picked at.

What was the recall for? Any more info on this?

I only ask because I have a similar issue with my 2001, it is a 4.6SE (according to LR paperwork when sold) with a Westminster badge on the back but vin decodes to an HSE... It is fully loaded with wood, nav, seat piping etc but no wood on steering wheel and wood is walnut, not black cherry like the Westminster.. It is one confused P38!
