Definitely Wolfpack, im interested, i'll do mines in the summer as well. I still drive around without opening my sunroof.Last time i pull the cover back, it rained some reddish-brown dust on me(thought it was asbestos or something), so i keep it closed.

Like a lot of us, mine's been adhesive-sprayed, brushed clean then shop-vac'd, resprayed.
The longest it's stayed up is 2-3 mos.

This summer I'm going to yank the material, clean the foam well, then spray it w/ texture (foam friendly) spray paint.

This was recommended by my brother, a commercial painter who's no stranger to special effects.

He insists it will work very well.

I have done mine twice now. Both times the liner stayed put and did not sag. I replaced it a second time because I did not use very good replacement material. Removing all of the old stuff is critical and really does take some serious time but it necessary. If you do not scrub the old surface clean nothing will work. I used a grill brush from Home Depot. Really big one with loads of steel bristles. Then let it dry and use the really good spray adhesive and follow the directions exactly no skimping.

I need to replace my headliner, but just for the sliding door which covers the the sun roof. How would I go about getting the door out of the vehicle to replace the headliner?

Hey another guy did the same thing my wife and I did.

It is very simple. Remove the headliner shell yourself.

[ol][*]Remove all the attachements around the roof, hand holds, lights, speakers, mirror, sun visors, etc.[*]Carefully lower the unit being careful not to crease it as the shell is made of heavy cardboard.[*]Peel the old liner out of the shell being careful not to tearing it.[*]Measure the unit front to back left to right and give yourself 12" or more in each direction for the concave dip and overlay on the sides.[*]Go to a good fabric shop and bring the old cloth with you with your measurements. Here is where you can get creative.[*]Find yourself a nice replacement fabric. We found a very nice thick felt like what used to be in the old Caddy's.[*]Buy several cans of industrial 3M Adhesive (Spray or brush on).[*]Coat the inside of the roof shell you removed earlier. Let it dry per the istrustions on the can.[*]Take your new cloth and lay it into place being careful not to getting the adhesive on the the vissible side.[*]Make all the required cutouts for the objects removed in step 1, but leave enough material so you can glue back leaving a nice clean opening.[*]When happy and the roofcloth is dried to the liner put the unit back in place opposite from taking it out.[/ol]
This may seem like a pain to do, but that liner when I did mine LR wanted $850 10 years ago who knows what they want now. The best part is it is cheap and did I forget to mention your roof liner is custom and much better than what they give you from the factory.
