Default Help 2007 steering coloum issue

Hi everyone, so glad I found this site!!!!

I have been experiencing some issues with my 2007 Rover, I thought maybe you could help me out. Firstly, my steering coloum motor doesn't stop running, sometime when I get in the car it won't go back to memory position, secondly, I don't know if these issues are related, keyless entry on key stopped working, and the battery has died a few times. I don't know if the battery has gotten worn out from the steering coloum issue??
What would you recommend I do to fix the steering coloum issue?? Actually what should my husband do?? LOL I REALLY appreciate your help!!

Fran

Is your rover still under warranty, if it is just take it to the dealership. If not, the motor should stop eventually. The one in my Jaguar has an issue with moving, but the motor will eventually shut off when it tries to put the steering wheel in the correct position. Your battery could also be causing the problem. If the battery is shot, it will not remember the steering column position and will also forget your memory settings and key FOB (hence the vehicle not recognizing your key). Might want to get the battery tested, and replace it if it is bad. A local auto parts store should help you do this (autozone, napa, etc.)

sounds like an issue with the seat module or the bcu going bad. but need the vehicle looked at for codes. the key not working can be repgrmed manually using the same technique as an 03 range rover remote.
