Question 2007 RRS sc transmission issue?

I have a 2007 RRS sc with 39,300 miles and had a Reduced engine performance warning at highway speed resulting in loss of power to transmission (no acceleration). Took it to the LR dealer and had a p 0730 fault code. Dealer says the trans must be replaced. Out of Manufactures warranty by date, have an extended warranty and they want to provide a rebuilt trans or I can pay the diff for a oem transmission. What should I do? Will rebuilt trans impact the value of my RRS?

This is a common problem, our resident forum Rover tech will chime in but if I remember right it is one of 2 things.
Either a exhaust leak which there is a recall for or dirty transmission fluid.
No a rebuilt trans will not effect the value of your truck, whos going to know it has a rebuilt trans in it unless you tell them?

It won't change anything if they install a rebuilt unit. just make sure they do install a new transmission oil cooler or else you could have another failure. if the fluid is a milky color from the coolant getting into it then yes replace it. but at the same time its not bad to replace them anyway so if they do fail then it won't cost you money.
