i have an 02 plate range rover vogue
the interior Fan (heater) spasmodically remains on whilst the car is in situ! this drains the battery and requires a jump start?
anybody experianced similiar ? diagnostics showing nothing

Where are you located? The reason I ask is in the EU the 02 rover was the Mark III and seems to be the one prone to this problem. I guess an easier way to ask, is yours an L322 or a P38 Range Rover?

The trick to finding the problem is to get the fan to turn on. I would start by tapping on the suspect areas to try to get the fan to turn on. I would start with the relays. It sounds like maybe a sticking relay. It could also be one of the fan motors. You should be able to isolate the problem by getting the fan to turn on by you doing something such as tapping on something or moving a bundle of wires etc etc. By the way, I am assuming that the fan just turns on and off throughout the night which drains the battery. Is this right? If the fan is just remaining on constantly, try swapping relays.

 

relay in the fan goes bad. its a seven hundred part. melts the relay in the fuse box.
