Default Help!,... my Rovers muted

Hey guys, i just got my Range(98 P38 HSE) out of the shop for door lock repair and a busted alternator. When i was leaving i noticed my radio had four dashed lines where the "Code In" msg should appear. The radio is not responding to any of the buttons and i cant even enter the security code. My mechanic says he doesnt understand why its doing that since they never touched the radio, and it was working fine when i brought it in. Is there anything i can do or should know about this issue?

Thanks for helping.

Try popping the fuse for it under the seat (short of disconnecting the battery) and see if it will reset itself to the point of entering the security code that way. If all else fails, call the guys at Roverville.us and get their opinion....they fix these.

The battery was most likely disconnected. That is a safety feature to prevent it from being installed in another vehicle after being stolen. You can call your local rover dealer and they should be able to hook you up with the code based on you vin #
