L322 Brake Hose Recall
I had the passsenger side brake hose rupture at the metal fitting yesterday on my wife's L322. Started looking for parts locally and my indy shop (Discovery Automotive) mentioned a newer part number and the recall. Here you go...
NHTSA Recall Number: 15V-039
Recall Date: January 26, 2015
Manufacturer Recall Number: P054
SUMMARY:
Jaguar Land Rover are conducting a safety recall campaign involving certain 2006 to 2012 Model Year Range Rover vehicles built at the Solihull (UK) Assembly Plant between March 14, 2005 to August 14, 2006 to replace the front brake hoses.
SAFETY RISK:
A concern has been identified with brake hoses installed on 2006 Model Year (MY) Range Rover vehicles. Customers may experience a loss of brake fluid as a result of rupturing of one or both of the front brake jump (flexi) hoses. This may result in the loss of the front brake circuit. The vehicle braking system is a dual circuit system, one system operates the front braking circuit and the other system operates the rear braking circuit.
REMEDY:
Owners will be notified and instructed to take their vehicle to a Land Rover dealer who will replace both Left Hand and Right Hand front brake hoses. There will be no charge to owners for this repair.
