Default MAP Sensors

Hi there
Does the 1998 4.6L p38 HSE Range Rover have a MAP sensor and if so where is it located?

Sure, all OBD2 engines have one located on the air intake hose.
Why do you ask?

To clarify, are you asking about a Mass Air Flow Sensor, or a Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor?

Yes to the MAFS, no to the MAP.

I'm assuming an issue with the engine has you asking this question, what exactly is going on? Any faults?

Thanks Guys for replying. I was asking becuase I wanted to know whether the Range Rover has a MAP sensor as well as MAF sensor. Clearly the don't.
The Range Rover is blowing black smoke out the exhaust upon accelerating, hence running rich. There is no engine check light on so we can assume the the oxygen sensor are ok and the injectors are ok.
What else could be wrong that will not cause the engine check light to show??
