Default My new RR and his new engine...

Hi guys, I'm new here. I'm not from england so sometimes i cannot understand you (don't be mad at me, please).
Few days ago I both a Range Rover from 99/00 with 4.6 v8 engine. The engine is broke down ( I know that it is usuall for this cars). My friend has got the engine from new RR 4.4 v8 from 2002 with gear box. What do you think about it if I change my broken motor on this 4.4 with gear box. Is it possible? Someone done something like this? Maybe better would be an older RR for this engine but I have 99/00. What do you think about it guys?

I can't say I have heard of anyone doing this, but I believe it would be very expensive becasue you will propably have to change out the electroniics, ECU and wire harness, transmission and possibly the t/case just to get everything to work together. The problem is you are wanting to put a BMW engine in a vehicle that is set up for a Rover engine., so I would say no.
It will be cheaper to find a 4.0 or better yet a 4.6 to use.
By the way, what is wrong with the engine you have and where do you live?
Mike
