I have 1995 P38 Diesel 2.5 it has lost a lot of power, i have taken the turbo off and both the impeller and compressor fans are turning freely without any play, it is a bit sootted up though.

I have inspected all the air inlet pipes for damage and no signs of degradation of bits falling down to block air inlet

The Inter cooler & pipes are all clear

Also the bypass gate is closed and works with a bit of pressure from air line

The turbo - Manifold gasket had burned away at the top, but only around the bolt hole not the seal.

So I am now looking for the turbo vacuum boost sensor and I cant find it.

The manual all be it a 2000 model says it is on the left bulkhead, cant see it

The pipes going to the MAP sensor is ok no leaks as I understand this has some bearing on the Turbo Boost Sensor.

Anyone got any ideas, might it be something else and not turbo ??

The turbo boost pressure sensor is mounted on the bracket on top of the fuel filter.
LH rear or RH rear, either way just look for the fuel filter that's were it lives.

 

Thanks, I thought that was the MAP sensor.

Can you tell me where you are getting all this info, what book, manual are you using and where I can get it
