P38 power steeing pump

Default P38 power steeing pump

i need a new power steering pump. it's squeaking like crazy, guess the bearings are out.

you guys know anywhere there not going to charge an arm and a leg?

You can get a used pump relatively cheap off ebay or from a wrecker. Are you sure its not the belt slipping? If you take your belt off and spin the pump, do you notice any binding or crackling noises? You will naturally feel resistance but not a ton of it.

A short term fix is to drain the fluid and fill it with Lucas power steering fluid. I did this on mine a couple of years ago and it is still nice and quiet.

save your money for the repairs when it breaks down ,not kidding or being a jerk.

Lucas will take care of it in most cases or at least it will buy you some time. I used that in all my vehicles. I did a good flush (2 or 3 times) and then filled it the last time with Lucas.
