Default Questions from a new owner

I just purchased an '05 Range Rover and have to say wow!!! Everything about it is amazing and at some times confusing. My question is I do not have satellite radio (sirius) as an aux option. Can I go to a Land Rover dealer and have an upgrade done or is it easier to just have a portable unit installed? The other question is about keys. Can I get working spares made that do not have any lock/unlock buttons on them (just the key) from a local locksmith or do I need to go to the dealer? I apologize if this is covered already, I did not see it. Thank you for any and all help. I LOVE MY RANGE ROVER!!!!!

You can almost positively have it upgraded at the dealer...but..the cost is going to be pretty outrageous I'd guess. A portable unit might be your best bet depending on how you feel about a unit sitting on the dash..

As for the key, I know for my 01 I can get a Valet Key from the dealer for somewhere around $35 (as opposed to a new remote with key for $185). I would be inclined to think a locksmith's copy would not do the trick because you still have to be able to disarm the alarm as you unlock the door.

WolfPack is correct... for the keys you'll have to go through the dealer, even if you don't want the remote. And for the satellite radio i'd just get a portable unit... don't let the stealers do it as it will be a pricey add-on (can't really give a figure as anything like that seems to vary from dealership to dealership).

A valet type key is not available for this car at the dealership, only the standard remote type key is offered.
