Range Rover Classic Gas Tank Recall
I have only owned my 94 RR Classic LWB for a few month; however I just received a recall notice for the gas tank on this vehicle.
It says that the plastic welds on the gas tanks may begin to leak and could cause other issues.
Is this old news or has anyone else received this notice?
I searched around here and only found Disco's that had this issue.

Be HAPPY Rover found you and that they are willing to pay to replace your tank cause they do fail and leak and they are expensive.
This is part of a couple year old recall, sounds like it just took them awhile to find you.
So call and make an appoinyment.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if it was a new issue or as you said; they just found the vehicle.
I have only had it for about 2 months. The recalls always seem to find me. I love it! FREE paarts and even better; no labor on my part.
What are the odds of them fixing the fuel guage level issue while they are in there?
It's a well known issue from what I gather. My guage never actually hits full.
The most fuel I have ever put in it is 16 gallons (All manuals say it has a 23 gallon tank).
This is after driving with the fuel light on for a day or two.
I actually like it that way. At least you know there is at least another 5 or 6 gallons left when you hit empty!
This is comforting when your gas light comes on and the last sign said "Next Fuel 67 Miles"...

Usually most dealers will wrie a separate customer work order and charge you some small extra amount to repair the problem while they are already in the tank.

That's cool. I will get it scheduled. This is not just a RR Classic issue, but more of a brand wide issue based upon year correct?
They would have to fix a recall locally weather they want to or nor correct?

Made the appointment.
Took it in.
Got it back 6 hours later.
For the first time ever I heard pressure escape when removing the fuel cap!
I think they even fixed my fuel level sending unit and did an injector cleaning.
It even runs better than it did before!
As mentioned in some other posts; she is in parts right now getting a rebuild of the suspension and a good engine cleaning.
It's getting better all the time!
