Default Rear door tailgate lifters

Can anyone help.

On cold mornings my rear tailgate on a 1996 4.6HSE refuses to stay up and generally collapses on my nogin!

I think I may need to replace one or both of the struts.

Does anyone know if they are repairable or whether I should just replace them instead.

As I'm a new owner I would be grateful for any tips and pointers as to where to obtain cheap replacements.

Cheers

On struts like that sometimes it helps to grease them up real good with silicone oil to "rejuvinate" the seals. For new struts see http://rangerovers.net/rrparts4.html#body
