Default Remote Starters

Has anyone had luck with having remote starters installed in 06 4.4 HSE or 06 Sport? Would like to have a viper or some type of compatible system installed in both but local alarm / radio professionals are hesitant to do so with all of the integration with the security system, etc. If
you have success in this area, please advise. Thanks.

I know some people on some other Land Rover forums have done them.
Personally I'm opposed to remote starters so never tried.

Why are you wanting to install a remote starting unit, they are really hard on engine and your oil, the engine runs way to rich, fouling your oil and carboning up your valves.

I had no idea that remote starters were so bad on vehicles! I was considering getting one but it sounds like its not worth the money if it is only going to decrease my vehicle's life. Thanks for the input

Mike, I too (as the one asking the original question) had no idea that remote starts were bad on / for a vehicle? I have one on a Ford Excursion Diesel that is a dream come true in cold weather....hit a button, walk out 10 minutes later, seats are warm, windows defrosted, engine ready. The rovers are mainly garaged, however in NYC it's damn cold a lot of times when they are out....I wasn't considering doing for any reason other
than I guess - just plain laziness. Even in warm weather - the one we do have -- when the car runs for a bit it cools off nicely. Just figured this
would be a way to further spoil myself in the Rovers....and considering most cars these days (new ones) are being sold with a remote starter as
an option, never thought of them as being rough on the engine...

Thanks,

Mike
