Default Rover Trailer Wiring

I was wondering if anybody has installed the trailer wiring kit from AB? It looks nice and simple but I'm not sure it is worth $100. A big drawback for me is that it doesn't have the round plug, it only has the flat. Has anybody installed a universal kit? Did you have any problems with your electrical after that such as the burned out bulb warning light? I found a nice universal kit for $40 that has a great plug that will accept the round or flat plugs. Its a little more work to install but I save $60 and get the dual plugs.

The rover one has a seven pin one and you can buy an adaptor. Seen a few issues with the AB after a few years.

Well I actually had a stroke of luck tonight. I bought a universal kit but when I pulled the panel to hook it up I found that the previous owner had already installed one. I tested it out and everything worked!! That doesn't happen to often.

Uh oh. That just means you are going to have bad luck on your next project. The Rover gods have to keep the luck ratio even.

(make sure the next project is something simple, so even with the mandated bad luck, it won't be too costly)

DON'T even joke about that. I am planning on doing the head gasket this weekend if the weather holds out. Unfortunately you are right, the Rover Gods will not allow that kind of luck on two projects in a row.

I actually felt the one yesterday. We are 400 miles away but it shook our building.
