Runs horrible when cold.
2000 Range Rover with 104k miles.Starting from cold engine, it runs horrible - no power, sluggish. After it warms up, 20 -30 seconds runs fine. Rarely does it take longer to kickinto normal. If engine is hot on a restart, it runs fine. Only a cold engine issue. Any ideas were to start ?
Have you recently done an ignition tune-up? I had a cold running problem on an older Range Rover and it turned out to be a bad spark plug. Start with an ignition tune-up (you might be due anyway). I couldn't imagine it being fuel or air delivery so you need to get the spark in place. You may be due for a tune-up anyway.

Hey Mike,
There's an old post where you ask a guy if he's got lots of white smoke on startup when on cold days. Well, I've got tons of smoke which smells kind of rich when its cold out (below freezing). It gets a little better after 20min or so. I am using up coolant but turns out my water pump bearings were shot. Could the bad water pump explain coolant loss? Or is the white smoke more worrisome? Also my MPG were cut in half recently from 12 to 6mpg. Any thoughts?
