Default Solenoid Issue, Can I Bypass?

Hi guys ~ I am having an issue shifting my 92 Range Rover LSE. The car starts just fine but I am unable to shift from park to reverse, drive, etc.

I have pumped the breaks, etc.

A guy I know referenced that I may need a new solenoid. I am trying to find out if there is a bypass to the solenoid so I can at least get it down to the garage so he can swap it out for me.

Check the switch on the brake pedal. Do you hear a click at all when you push the brake? Do your brake lights work as well? You can disassemble the shifter **** and bypass it that way.
