Default Speaker Upgrade in a 2000 P38

I've searched through the audio section and I still have not found a definitive answer. I'm looking to upgrade my factory speakers in my 2000 P38. I tried some cheap 6.5 subs from Parts Express but they were not up to the task and blew about a month after the install, now I just bought some 6.5 JL subs that will arrive tomorrow. What do you guys recommend for the door speakers? I've done my research and the doors hold a 1" tweeter, 2.5" mid, and a 6.5" woofer. Who makes a 2.5"? Has anybody installed a 3.5" mid in that spot? Should I do components with a .75" tweeter and skip the mid?

My Preference is Polk which I have put in a Rolls and will be putting in a Disco 1. The sound of a speaker is your preference but the quality will show up in the high end pieces. Crutchfield is an on line store I will use sometimes.

The polk are nice.. I put marine grade speakers in my S2000 in case they get wet. It seems like a good idea to put marine grade speakers in car doors because of the dampness..
