Speaking of Overheating....
Well, today I thought I would switch out my ground on the battery and being the ignorant fool I was, went and bought a generic one at an auto parts store. I installed it with little effort and fired the rover up. I was driving down the drive way when mom came running and wanted a ride lol
. So I let her in and we drove down the road on our way out of the neighborhood. Once I was about 50ft from the main road I noticed a glowing light in the corner of my eye, I looked and to my horror I saw the temp needle in the highest point and the red light on  !!!! So I immediately shut the engine down and slammed on the brakes. I popped the hood and ran out to open it up and saw a bit of smoke coming from the leaks on the exhaust manifold. I was struck with horror wondering if it was going to catch on fire and what would have caused this. I knew it would not be wise to try and restart it so we walked home and got my other car to tow it, with an extension cord (I could not find any rope and pushing it was out of the question, and we did try to push it lol!) Many of the people at the country club were watching this and probably laughing. Once at home I decided that common sense says to undo whatever I did and that meant putting the old ground wire back on. Sure enough, everything was fine and not a sign of overheating at all. Drove it down the road with some of the people that were laughing, starring as it blissfully galloped down the road
. My question for you all, would a ground seriously cause this problem?
