Default '01 D II: headlight plug / window questions.

My front passenger side H4 headlight plug (black plug) has a white H4 male plug-thru attached with one wire that trails back into the truck and the other 3 fit to the headlamp.. Anyone familar with this, I would like to eliminate it.

Also I just experienced removing the worst window linkage fail ever - someone tried to put the windows down when they were frozen shut and the entire linkage folded inside the door under the pressure (strong motors I guess) Anyways, the rails that are attached the windows (crimped on, with a rubber strip) have come off, they are corroded and are impossible to put on.... Should I just find used glass with the rails attached or has anyone replaced them with any success?

I'll get photos posted soon. Thanks.

Not sure about your headlight pigtail. But I'll have a look later today.

I have never tried to replace the bracket on a window, but I have some I could sell you. $20 plus shipping. If you are interested PM me.

Black plug attached to a white plug with three wires going to another white plug on the headlight, while a single blue wire runs back into the engine compartment?

Your Disco at some point had the factory off-road lights on a brush guard. The factory wiring kit involved unplugging the passenger headlight socket and installing the white male to female wiring lead.

THAT was a fun install using the Land Rover assembly instructions which are nothing more than pictures and arrows.

Thanks for the replies - and thanks abran for the offer on the used window, that was a good price - but I have a dead DII out back so I'm gonna pull the windows out of it. I just need to figure out how to get the window tracks loosened and how to get the window out.

Lordmorph : That makes sense about that plug - my buddy and I were putting the headlight back in - we did not know what to do with the plug, so I said "wait, I'll check the forum to see if anyone answered"...... so we disconnected the plug and cut/capped the blue wire that goes back into the truck and it all seems to be working fine. Awesome.

2 8mm bolts hold the window to the Regulator track,

If the power windows are working, strip the door panel and lower the window until you can see both bolts.

If they are not working release all the 8mm bolts that hold the regulator till it falls and exposes the 8mm bolts.

Then of course you need to take off the window frame. Look for the sneaky 13mm just below the side view mirror.

Good luck!
