Default 02 D2 Headgsaket Kit Suggestions

I'm looking at having to do headgskets on my 02 D2 and want to know who you guys suggesting getting my kit from including head bolts. As everyone does, I want proven good parts for fair prices. Atlantic has a set for $159.95 w/o bolts. Bolts on there site are another $80.
I've seen several other sets for less but want to know what you guys that have done these your self or had these done before think.
Thanks for the advice and help in advance fellas.
I don't want to have these done twice or give up a leg to get the parts.
Cheers

I bought a Victor Rienz kit for $110. Can't remember exactly where I got it but here's one place: https://www.carpartsdiscount.com/cyl...ml?3593=124237. I got free shipping too. Then get the head bolts from Miami British: Land Rover Head Bolt Set Discovery I Range P38 Defender RR Classic MR0007 Allm | eBay. You could also see if Miami British will match the price for the gasket set so you can get everything from one source. I just did my heads and the gaskets and bolts worked great.

I've used the Atlantic British set twice with no issues, on set has over 50k on them. I would suggest you spend the extra $40.00 and use ARP stud instead of bolts.

Personally, I disagree with the use of studs on an all aluminum engine as the tty bolts act as springs which allows them to maintain tension while the head and block expand while ARP studs don't. There are plenty Rover head gaskets that are clamped with tty bolts that have lots of miles on them, and virtually all manufacturers use them on their engines now. If you decide to go with the studs, I wish you luck with picking a torque value.

ARP gives you the torque values this is not magic, as for every manufacture using TTY most do.
But how many manufactures do you think have to replace head gaskets under warranty? very few, it any.
so why not use tty as long as the get past warranty that's all that matters.

but EVERY company that re-manufactures ROVER engine in England use ARP stud kits religiously.

the only one i see not using ARP studs is whomever is doing British Atlantic rebuild, so you know there not rebuilt by Turner like there other engines.

lets be honest this is the equivalent of a small block Chevy in England.
they blow them and rebuild them on a daily basis, why would they order ARP stud kits from the states if TTY were just as good?

ARP calls for 100 ft.-lbs. I would be hesitant to go to that high a torque on these blocks.
