'06 LR3HSE Brake Pads
Hi:
Took my '06 LR3 to the dealer today for 15K milecheckup (it has 14K) on it. Got a call back that the brake pads are 15% in the rear and 15% in front. Was advised that this is because it is a heavy vehicle. Anyone else experience this issue? Even though it is a heavyvehicle, 15K pad replacements ($900 for both, not covered under warranty) seems a little too soon. Would appreciate feedback...
Thanks,

Thanks,
How hard have you been driving it? Yes it is heavy but even more so it is very under sized when it comes to brakes.
How mwchanical are you? The brakes are not that hard to install and there are a number of places on line to buy good brake pad replacements.

Thx Mike. This is my wife's vehicle. She is known to have a lead foot at times
and does a lot of city driving. I wouldn't call her driving hard though. I am not very mechanical but can get around cars. I wouldn't want to mess with the warranty though (still has 3 more years to go) Also, do you know of any independents in the West LA area? Thanks for the response

Land Rover of Scottsdale really didn't like my new brakes that I purchased http://www.dap-inc.com/homeframe.htm . I told them that I wasn't going to put back on the same factory pads/rotors that came with the vehicle because they can't handle the vehicles weight. I bought the new kit and love it, stops a lot nicer! Only problem is that they said the wheel sensors are still picking up noise and the Tres Amigos are still on. I said I'll live with it.
For my 02' Disco.

Just so you know, you can put aftermarket pads on your truck during it warrant and not effect the rest of the warranty. Or go buy factory pads and save all that labor by installing them yourself, will probably save you around $600.
