1990 Front Brake Caliper
I have a 1990 LR RR Classic and I am working on replacing the brake calipers on the front. I notice that at some places there are 2 options for the correct caliper. I am not sure what the difference is between the two options. It appears that it is based on vin, early and late models.
Can anyone explain what the difference would be?
Early option has a hex head bolt and is a 10 mm caliper. Later option is a 12 mm caliper and has a 12 point bolt holding on the caliper.
What is the 10 mm and 12 mm measuring?

Older version doesn't have metric hardware. Newer version does. If you've got 12 point hardware you've got the newer version. You probably do. I think 1990 was when ABS became standard for the US.
yes it was and they should be 4 piston calipers with two brake lines to each caliper.
i replaced mine with loaded calipers that i got at autozone about a year ago, came complete pads and hardware.
I think i paid less than $75.00 ea.

Thanks, I have the early version, hex head 10 mm with ABS. So I am curious if the calipers are the same between the two versions and they just changed to metric hardware. I suppose that would mean the threads in the caliper would be different as well.
