1996 Land Rover Discovery advice needed

Jackpot dude!
My guess is that the it's because Disco was considered a "luxury" vehicle, much closer to the Range Rover than the Defender. Particularly here in the states, automatics are more popular in general.

Because 98% of Americans who buy $45,000 cars do not want to shift it themselves so they did a limited import of them.
'96? was the last year they imported trucks with a 5-speed.

Ever try to juggle an I-phone, double cheese burger, illegal in NYC sized drink, and shift a 5 speed in traffic? That's why they want automatics.

I don't talk on the cell phone while driving, don't eat fast food, and is their really a illegal size drink in NYC, I love driving sticks, I really miss it.
