Default 1998 disco 1 50th how to bypass OEM alarm

Has anyone done this in the past. I want to bypass factory alarm. I am having problems with it. The windshield leaked when PO had it. The relays and modules under passenger dash got all wet and occasionally the disco would not start because of OEM alarm system would get wet. (green box under p-side dash). I want to bypass the start kill, and I also have problems with keyless entry. I have replaced driver door lock motor twice, (used ones, did not know they were weak, new is like 288.00 f-that) I used to install remote starts and keyless entry, power door locks, power windows etc. I'm want to rip out OEM system and install a Spal central locking system with an alarm system I have from my other truck. a nice GPS unit with cell phone remote start. Thanks in advance

(Note: I do not have the "spider harness" under radio) Please understand, I know there is a way. I used to be able to bypass can-bus on Jeeps, Mercedes, and Audi for installing remote starts with keyless. I Have not done this in 10 years, so a little rusty. I was hoping for an easy answer, but if needed I will just dig into the schematics. Remember, nothing is impossible that's my position on life.

I've never heard of anyone being successful at doing this.

The easier solution would be to buy a matching set ECU and green alarm box from a dismantler.

But, it sounds like you are too determined to take that route, so good luck.

Well, I have been known to be a little stubborn.
I spent 4hrs yesterday reviewing the schematics, it looks like you can disable most of the sensors and bypass the engine kill. However, I read on another forum that you can bring it to a dealer or someone with a dealer supported scan computer and disable the alarm. Anyone know if that's true?? I have a buddy that has a land rover shop and has the factory style scan tool.

So, after a bunch of reading on forums. I guess you can get your ecm flashed to be a stand alone unit. I dont care about door locks, But I assume that since there is a power window module. The windows would still work. Also I'm going to assume the dome lights will not operate. Apparently Mark Adams from Tornado Systems is the only guy in the world that can re-flash your ecu?? any input???

I found this tip on the net, anyone try this
Find the BLUE / GREEN (-) wire located at the Factory Security Module:
the FACTORY SECURITY Module is located under the PASSENGER hush panel far to the right. Requires (2) 7mm bolts removed to access.Connect one end of a piece of wire to the BLUE / GREEN (-) wire
Connect the other end of the piece of wire to Ground - (chassis)
This will Dis-Arm the Factory Alarm, until the wire is removed

So I spoke with tornado systems in england. He knows how to eliminate alarm system, but he will only sell you a re programmed ecu that will not need signals from alarm system. Similar to a stand alone ecu) still waiting on a price + freight.

I have an Autologic and I can't turn off the alarm with it.

In the end the system is not so bad and buying a matching ECU and alarm box is pretty cheap and plug and play. No need to reprogram, mileage stays the same, etc.

I really dispise this alarm. It sucks, the remote sucks, you have very limited range. The power door locks irritate me, because some unlock and some don't when using keyless. Now granted, I stole this disco off CL for $450.00 us and the best part. I threw in a battery and hit the fuel reset and drove away. Since then, I have driven it for 2 years and fixed many things. Just was hoping for an easy fix on alarm. Anyways I'm thinking about making it an off road vehicle. Looking for parts, lift kit with springs, skidplate, (would love plans for one, I can almost do anything). Found plans for roof rack, I really like led lighting, but it does not look right. The round lights look best, maybe nostalgia to the camel days when I was a young lad. Thanks for all the input, might still get ecu programed for alarm bypass and more power, RRRRRR,
