Default 1999 Disco Series I Wheel Hub Assembly

So I found this one on a site for $73...it says it fits the Series I...then this other site says it doesn't fit the series I....RockAuto doesn't even have a assembly for the series I...please tell me that I will be able to use the $73 one and not have to find some $250+ assembly

What did you do to your truck that you would need a new hub? The hubs on DI's are practically indestructible.

If you need wheel bearings, they are easily replaced on DI hubs. You really have me scratching my head between the other post about needing a distributor cap for a '99 DI and now needing a new hub.

Yeah it's the wheel bearings...my front passenger side is bleeding through the hug (oil/grease) and was told if I was doing One I might as well do both...but I heard replacing the hub is easier than replacing the bearings in it? I did find 2 used hubs in great condition for $108...should I stick with that or ?

Are you confusing D1 hubs for the sealed D2 hub units ?, there is no need to replace hubs on a D1. Unless the seal has been stuffed for a while and bearings run dry all they will need is to be repacked with grease and a new seal fitted.
At worst new bearings should only be $30 or so.

Tonyfnb, what do the door handles on your truck look like? Which of these photos looks like your truck?

Based on his posts about needing a distributor, $200 ignition wires and now new hubs on a DI, I honestly think, more than anything else, he needs someone who knows something about these trucks to take a look at his. Timken T37 bearing and race sets used to be about $20 a piece. Two per hub and with a new seal and you're good to go. Now, I don't know if I'd want someone who's never held a tool before punching out a race in one of these hubs (at least without some guidance) but there is no reason anyone with a DI would need to purchase new hubs. Even if a stud was broken off you can still buy genuine replacements.

Here's all you need, from Trevor, at Rovah Farm. Each kit will fit a side.
