My car was stuck in park. For about 3 days. Brake lights worked. Disconnected and reconnected the battery (1 hour). Still nothing. My mechanic came to my house and connected his diagnostic device and there were some messages but nothing about the gear selection. He cleared the messages and restarted the car and then it was able to shift out. It’s been fine for 3 days now but I’m obviously concerned. Can this be a computer issue? I don’t know if I should get the gear selection mechanism replaced or just leave it alone but I don’t want to get stuck somewhere.
