3 amigos but no codes
Purchased '01 Disco II, 205K mi and counting (daily driver). Right away I started getting the 3 Amigos. Sometimes when I brake, sometimes when I accelerate, sometimes not at all during a drive. Typically when I go to start her up again they are gone, but randomly show up again. For no apparent reason it seems.
I have had my codes read 3 times since March. NO codes have come up period, except the last time I got P0304 (new plugs & wires being installed as I type this).
I cannot find any threads regarding 3 Amigos lights without a code showing up. Might this mean I should try replacing the ABS Modulator Shuttle Valve Switch??
How do I determine why I am getting the 3 Amigos? Should I try the "bypass option B?

Contrary to popular belief, It is most likely not you abs modulator or shuttle valve.
Sounds like you have a loose connection of a abs sensor where it plugs into. Check all of the plugs, they are located inside the engine compartment, by the firewall on the wheel well, for the two front. And the two rear one are underneath the truck in the rear.
While you are checking all of the plugs. When you unplug one, take a volt meter and set it to ohms and check the sensor and see if you get a constant number, then compare it to all the other ones. If you get a reading that it is erratic, then the sensor is bad.
You might want to take some electrical tape or better yet heat shrink at the connection joint. Because while driving it can jostle and throw a code, then reset itself with when connects itself back.
If there was really something wrong the code would not go away.
And I do believe you probably have not read the codes from the abs module itself. This is different from the ECU. Also codes are normally stored until cleared. Only the higher end scan tools will communicate with the ABS module.
Hope this helps...
