3500 rpm diesel with V8 auto gearbox expected issues?
Hi All!
I've got an opportunity to build the following setup in a defender:
Turbo diesel engine with 3500 rpm, 296 Nm, and 130 bhp.
ZF 4 speed auto gearbox from a RRC.
Borg Warner 1.2:1 transferbox
235/70/16 wheels
I'm wondering what issues would need to be solved besides mountingpoints on the chassis. I'm thinking about low top speed, inappropriate gear changes, effect on kick down, etc
Of course any issue that comes with a excellent solution is extra welcome!
My first thought is to change the transferbox for a 1:1 ratio one, but I'm wondering whether this would change the way the gear changes, or the kickdown. It would improve the top speed I guess.
