4.0 DI and DII motor differences?

4.0 DI and DII motor differences?
What are the differences between the 4.0 in the DI and the one in the DII? What did they do to make the DII 4.0 so unreliable? I thought they were the same motor. If they are the same why don't you hear about the DI's having all the headgasket problems like the DII's?
